Hey Hey everybody!!
Happy Friday! This is a more special blog than usual as there is something very exciting happening next week in Glasgow city centre and I am going to tell you all about it. If you read my blog Spring In My Step back in February you would of read about my love for shopping in Glasgow and about the several high street and high end stores Glasgow has to offer. It is no wonder Glasgow has gained its boastful reputation as being the best shopping destination in the UK outside of London. With over 1500 stores to “shop till you drop” in, this officially makes Glasgow a dreamy shopping destination for the shameless shopaholics like myself. Not to mention the several shopping centres such as Buchanan Galleries, St Enoch Cente, Princes Square and Argyle Arcade.
The festival is running from the 25th-30th May and if you find yourself at the bottom of Buchanan St be sure to pop into the Festival Hub which will be situated there to offer advice and info on whats on. Over the five days you will gain an insight and valuable information from the experts themselves in categories such as Beauty, Fashion and Lifestyle/Home where they will be demonstrating live masterclasses and styling sessions.
TIP- Keep yours eyes an ears open for exclusive discounts and promotions from restaurants and shops partaking in this weeks upcoming Style Mile event!!!
So to get everyone in the Summer mode…and…given that festival season is just around the corner, I decided to style my very own favourite festival inspired look.
So truthfully this look wasn’t hard to achieve given that the high street shops are filled with amazing festival themed pieces with everything from tassels, faux suede jackets, hippy chic styles, lace floaty tops and embroidered dresses… On the plus side, thanks to Buchanan galleries everything I needed was under the one roof so didn’t have to branch out far to get everything. Buchanan Galleries has over 80 stores and with their own car park as well and food court, it makes for a very enjoyable and convenient shopping experience. (Check out Buchanan Galleries website to read all about what they have in store for the upcoming Style Mile event)
I wanted a look that was comfortable and trendy and one which I could wear again and style in a different way. After all, there is nothing I hate more than wearing something once and never being able to wear it again.
I matched my off the shoulder top with a fabulous black choker… (very Coachella of me!!). The denim jacket is a must have- I don’t think I even own a pair of jeans without rips so when I saw this ripped denim jacket it was love at first sight. There is actually a COACHELLA brand H&M have got in store just now offering the funkiest festival season clothing at a really affordable price.
I LOVE these shorts…I will definitely wear them on a night out with a heel and off the shoulder jumper top. As for just now I simply dressed them down with statement TOPSHOP sandals.
Obviously the sun is shining and the white crop top seemed a perfect match at the time. But lets be honest, festivals in the UK can often turn into a rainy mudslide so don’t be afraid to layer to keep warm, these shorts would be fab with an oversized jumper, doc martens and denim jacket on top. Why not check out the badges in Topshop just now and customise you denim jacket?! (just a thought)
ACCESSORIES ARE KEY
Okay so if you browse through the magazines or think festivals, I always admire the floral headbands, tassel handbags, bumbags, rings, chokers, statement jewellery pieces and funky shades. Accessories are vital when creating a festival styled look of your own.
I went to town and got a statement choker and packet of rings to wear on each finger, along with an oversized silver button design hat and my backpack.
